Other Ways to Give

Workplace Giving Campaign

Many local companies offer workplace giving campaigns, allowing employees to contribute through the ease of payroll deduction.

Stocks and Securities

Giving stocks and securities can be a generous and smart way to invest in our community. The donor has the benefit of a tax deduction at the fully appreciated value without being taxed on the capital gain. For more information, please contact United Way Blackhawk Region Finance Director at 608.314.8420.

Planned Giving

A planned gift may include gifts of stock, bonds, mutual funds or real estate given as an outright gift or a gift in a bequest, trust or gift annuity. For more information, contact United Way Blackhawk Region Resource Development Director at 608.314.8421.

IRA Charitable Rollover

You may be looking for a way to make a big difference to help further our mission. If you are 70½ years or older you may also be interested in a way to lower the income and taxes from your IRA withdrawals. An IRA charitable rollover is a way you can help continue our work and see benefit.

Benefits of an IRA charitable rollover
• Avoid taxes on transfers of up to $100,000 from your IRA to our organization.
• May satisfy your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year.
• Reduce your taxable income, even if you do not itemize deductions.
• Make a gift that is not subject to the deduction limits on charitable gifts.
• Help further the work and mission of United Way Blackhawk Region.

How an IRA charitable rollover gift works:
• Contact your IRA plan administrator to make a gift from your IRA to us.
• Your IRA funds will be directly transferred to our organization to help continue our important work.
• Please note that IRA charitable rollover gifts do not qualify for a charitable deduction.

You can make an even greater impact by donating at the Leadership Circle Level - a $600 or more combined household donation.
